THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED AND NO NEW DATE HAS BEEN SET.
Newton Transportation is hosting an Albemarle Parking Party this Friday 3/18 from 7:30-10:30 AM at the Education Center (Newton Public Schools) parking lot at 100 Walnut Street. This will be an opportunity to learn more about head out angled parking and try it out in your own car! The proposed Albemarle Traffic Calming and Bike Lane project proposes head out angled parking. Please note we cannot provide a car for you to use, so please bring your own, or come with a friend!
Information on the parking party is attached. For more information on the project, please visit: https://www.newtonma.gov/government/planning/transportation-planning/projects/albemarle-traffic-calming-bike-lane

Thanks for the head’s up about the back in parking (i.e. head out angled parking). I can’t come to the meeting.
They tried head out angled parking in front of the library during the installation of the solar panels. I work at the library and can say for sure that people were finding it difficult to back into angled spaces. I’m not sure it’s a good idea for Albemarle Rd (I live on Albemarle Rd by the way).
